tweak: re-encoding a cover happens on the UI goroutine

a 2000x2000 jpeg takes about 270ms to decode, scale and re-encode so moving the cursor between candidates feels kinda shit. measured it while looking at something else. errr, should either move it to a background command or cache more aggressively (?)
